My son Dan arrives today

Image
The task force has a new recruit as my eldest son Dan arrives today from Bournemouth so Mark and I are driving to Limoges airport to collect him. Dan is planning an extended stay in France and was previously working in Dublin for a film and sound studio after graduating. Great to be together on this amazing project, hopefully he can teach me something! Dan recovering with a cup of tea

Pressure washing, part 5: the back terrace and path

Image
This terrace is behind the Les Arbres gîte and the path connects it to the front terrace, although that was not evident before it was cleaned!

No "before" pics that I can find but the transformation is amazing!

Pressure washing, part 3: the 14C balcony

While I had to get back to Switzerland to get my car serviced and more importantly the results of my 2nd 6 month IRM/CT scans, Mark took on the cleaning of the balcony and wall below of the 14th century building, lots of ivy, moss, rotten leaves, etc

Pressure washing, part 2: around the pool

Next job for the pressure washer is the tiles around the swimming pool. The tiles are really nice but even the pressure washer could not get them spotless, some still have small dark spots left. We might need some chemical help to remove these spots.

Pressure washing, part 1: the front terraces

Mark only arrived yesterday and he's dived straight into the dirty work of pressure washing the terraces. This is going to be a big and messy job but he's come equipped with the right gear, a hi-vis jacket anyway. The "before and after" pics are amazing, so much built up leaves, moss, etc. Although I make a brief appearance in 1 pic below, Mark did all the pressure washing! I was just using the pressure washer to clean the tile saw for the bathroom remodel.
